The Kilwell Hydro Spin Canal Rod is designed for fishing the South Island hydro canals, but will suit any of the NZ rivers and lakes. It’s also a great rod for casting lures to squid around the harbour edges. Fitted with genuine cork grips, the blank is very light in the tip for casting light rigs, perfect for rolling eggs or casting small soft baits to wary fish, but still has plenty of power in the butt to fight a monster. The high frame single foot lightweight guides reduce the overall weight of the rod so you can spin all day with ease, and feel the slightest bite. The blank joins together using a spigot joint, to reduce the ‘flat spot’ effect created by a fit-over joint, so it leaves the rod blank with a near perfect action.
